KARL ARISS
Executive Officer - AACCI Queensland / National Communications Manager

Given his background in leadership, project management and process improvement, Karl has over 15 years of experience in Marketing & Communication, Media, Media Sales, Advertising and Management. He has a proven history of success directing large operations and projects, delivering superb revenue growth, managing professional teams and liaising with multicultural clients and professionals from around the globe.

Karl held managerial positions with big media companies in the Middle East and GCC countries, dealing with multi-million dollars advertising budgets. Karl travelled to most of the MENA region on business assignments.

Karl has been with AACCI since 2015 and he has a number of key roles within the organisation: Executive Officer for the State of Queensland, managing all AACCI business within Queensland, and he also holds the position of National Communications Manager, managing AACCI’s national communication at all levels. Karl has a strong relationship with all the Diplomatic Corps from the MENA region, AACCI stakeholders and AACCI Members.
Karl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, specialising in Marketing, and is fluent in French, English and Arabic.

BARBARA HAGGERTY
Executive Officer - AACCI Victoria / National Export Certification and Events Manager

Barbara has been associated with the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) for nearly 10 years. Firstly, as an active member of AACCI and serving as a Vice Chair on the Victoria Chapter Management Committee, followed by nearly four years being employed by AACCI. Barbara holds a number of key roles with AACCI: AACCI Victoria Executive Officer, National Export Certification and National Events Manager. At the commencement of her work with AACCI, she has successfully integrated AACCI Victoria onto the International Chamber House (ICH) platform, where she is an effective member of the team and collaborates with the other international chambers and business councils on initiatives and flagship events.

In her work with AACCI, Barbara’s focus has been on developing the Chamber and delivering high quality services to members. She continually and successfully captures opportunities, delivers measured results and drives initiatives in line with organizational strategic objectives: advocacy, member services, exports document certification and cultural understanding.

Barbara’s high energy levels, positive attitude and strong track record enable her to successfully influence and develop relationships by engaging with broad range of stakeholders: from state to federal government departments, corporate organisations, industry groups and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) diplomatic & consular corps with strong focus on delivering value to members, clients and stakeholders. Barbara holds Bachelor of Business & International Trade (Monash University), Bachelor of Business Marketing & Management (Monash University) and Masters of Marketing (Swinburne University).

NATALIE GUERIS
Export Marketing Development Consultant

Having spent nearly twenty years living and working overseas, ten of which were in Qatar, Natalie gained extensive work experience in trade consulting, centering on identifying synergies and facilitating lucrative trade relations between Australian & Middle Eastern companies and SMEs. Natalie has served as a trusted advisor to corporations, trade associations, think tanks, and foreign embassies in the Middle East and Australia. Natalie has also organised numerous successful trade missions and delegations that fostered valuable relationships with key leaders in government ministries, foreign embassies, and private enterprises.

Whilst in Qatar Natalie also help produce, photograph and research a series of five gardening books titled Gardening in Arabia in Qatar three of which are published.

Natalie has a Bachelor of Economics from La Trobe University and is currently writing her Thesis for a Masters in Global Diplomacy with SOAS, University of London.
